Papa Poule - Layout

Soooo Christmas is over and we're back to it! This is the first bit of work I've done since before Christmas seeing as I was spending the holidays writing my dissertation for my extended deadline. I'm pretty pleased with it, I'm just not sure about how much brush jitter Lucie wants so I'll have to speak to her about that. Also I need her help with the floor pattern, no matter how hard I try and how much I practice I. just. can't. get it. right. :( So I guess you could call this a temporary one for now until I get the floor right. I'm looking forward to getting back into production this semester!

Landlubber - props

I've added a pool lane divider reel in with the props as there is now one on the pool side in the film. I think they need to be a bit more cleaned up but I think they're alright for now. Not too sure about the shadows either haha

Landlubber - New style: Maurice Sendak

 So apparently, we have a new style for landlubber now? which means all of the background tests and work I've done is void :)
   I really like this artists style, but i'm not sure how jess wants to incorporate it so I'll have to have a chat with her about it. I think this could definitely work.

Papa Poule

So I haven't been to the studios for a while as I've been concentrating on my dissertation, but I've just been finishing things off like the props (even though the colours have changed now) I wanted to just get it finished, didn't take me long!
   I also did a background from one of the layouts I did which looks pretty good! and then this is another one in progress (unfinished) from another layout with the night palette.

This is another layout for one of the shots, Once the animation is cleaned up and coloured I'll colour this in so we have another finished shot

Papa Poule - Tweaking the Background

This is the background for the coloured shot that we have, three stages of tweaking. I think the third image is our final background now, Lucie seems to be happy with it which is great!

Papa Poule - First official background and finished shot?!

So we have a cleaned up, coloured shot and I thought it would be a good idea to turn the layout I did into a background so that we have a finished shot for the animatic milestone tomorrow. So here's the background I did but I haven't had to okay from Lucie yet so it might change but just for now, I quickly just imported the background into the TVPaint file and exported it just to see how it would look and ahhh it looks great! I'm so excited to carry on with it and see it all come together!
