Krita

I found a new software called 'Krita'. It's a free illustration software that I discovered whilst surfing the net. I thought for my first attempt, I would experiment with ideas for my Animation Practice project (800 years of Penryn). This is the outcome. I am aware that my drawing is very poor but the brushes and all the tools are really great on here. I just need to get used to them. Also, My computer was extremely slow so I couldn't really do much. This doesn't look good at all but I'm going to practice more with it and see how it goes.

2D Celaction Walk Cycle

This was my first time using Celaction properly and once I got into it I really enjoyed it. I think I'll experiment more with this. However, it was quite rushed and there are some parts of this that aren't quite right. For example, when the legs move you can see the bum sticking out. Perhaps there is a way I can sort that out, I will have to ask someone. Overall, for my first attempt, I am very pleased.

Penryn 800 years - Mood Boards

So, Penryn is turning 800 this year, so we've been asked to create a short animation of whatever we like in groups. I went on a walking tour of Penryn last Friday and what we were told was very interesting. There were stories about pirates and duals and the trading industry, so I went home to do more research. During a research session with my group, we found a story about an explorer called Peter Mundy who apparently was one of the first englishmen to try tea in China! (or 'chaa' as
China calls it.)
Mundy was born and raised in Penryn until he was 9 years old and then he accompanied his father travelling across the channel. We think that this man and his life as an explorer has the potential to be a good story. Here are two mood boards that i made to get started with ideas and inspiration. I'm looking forward to seeing what my group and I come up with.

More photoshop

Very subtle changes but good ones. This is the very nice view that I have from my room and I always get annoyed at the fact that there are things in the way. For example, there is a black lampost right outside and tall pole/lights further ahead. You can also see two wind turbines in the distance which I actually find quite theraputic but I removed them from the picture for practicing purposes. I lightened the image a bit but I do quite like the original as it gives a better sun set effect. However, I am pleased with how the view has improved now that I've removed the things that spoil it. It was really easy too! This took me about five minutes. I am really loving photoshop at the moment, I could sit here and edit pictures all day!
